Welcome to the first episode of Shopify Weekly. This week, Shopify published several changes for the API, Webhook, Shopify Flow, and Visual Studio Liquid extensions. We can also discover some tips from other bloggers, like POS UI extensions and some Excel tips, so let us explore those.

1. Notable updates this week for Shopify developer

From June 16 to June 22, 2024, Shopify released several upgrades, including the new API menu and a new webhook documentation. If you are a public app developer, you might be interested in their recently revised app catalog. You can refer to the detailed updates below:

2. POS UI Extensions tutorial

In this video, we look at Shopify POS and how to get started developing POS UI extensions. We will start with a quick introduction to the Shopify POS interface and initial setup. Then we build your first POS UI extension with the Shopify CLI, giving you the necessary code files as well as several prebuilt UI components like Date Pickers and the Camera Scanner. We then look at an example use case for working with the Cart API, which is one of Shopify's many APIs. Let us start!

3. A few options for customizing the checkout page (non-tech)

In this video, Davies explains how to change the checkout page to enhance conversion rates without the need for a developer. He suggests clarifying the Express checkout option by changing the language in the "Online Store" settings, streamlining the checkout process by converting to a one-page version, and personalizing the language on the continue to payment button. Furthermore, including branding elements like a logo and credibility builders may increase the page's trustworthiness.

Davies underlines the need to develop trust during the checkout process and suggests including microcontent, such as security reassurances, to make customers feel more comfortable. He also encourages users to change the text on the thank-you page to better engage customers and experiment with different phrases to increase conversion rates.

4. How to deploy Shopify functions?

A tutorial video from Stacking Context. In this video, we will learn how to deploy Shopify functions to a production store, how to enable the function once it is installed, and how to push additional updates after the initial deployment.

5. Free Google ads remarketing tag pixel

Thank you, Emmanuel Flossie, for providing an easy step-by-step guide to integrating Google Ads remarketing pixels into Shopify customer events, utilizing the latest capabilities!

6. 20 Excel tips that could come in handy (non-tech)

7. How to set up a Shopify website for customers?
